Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing. Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own.

Took me a while to figure out how to get a white background wid black letters on the Konsole terminal. In the Konsole settings I had tried “Window Color Scheme” ‘n “Configure Konsole” without any success…the “Window Color Scheme” fooled me! 😉

Wid some Distros like AlmaLinux 8.5 you can add the Gnome Terminal which I have found easy to change background color in. However, far too many KDE Plasma DE’s don’t allow the Gnome Terminal or won’t let you add it to the Panel.

One of the best ‘Thangs about having moved to KDE Plasma as my primary Linux DE is how easy it is to search the internet for answers you need. It may be equal to the search results that Ubuntu gets, and perhaps it has even more results that are accurate ‘n easy to implement. I finally did a search for the Konsole terminal, and quickly found a successful result.

Working in a terminal is bad enough, and a black background is just too dark for my aging eyes. Click on settings:

That opens a menu…click on Manage Profiles:

That’s where you can Edit Profiles ‘n add New Profiles. We’re going to edit the Karmi Profile by first highlighting it ‘n then clicking Edit:

Lots of choices ‘n I select “Black on White.”

Light at last, and Fuk the Gnome Terminal!!! 😉

Conclusion

This was an easy ‘n short post to do. KDE Plasma is rapidly becoming “The next generation desktop for Linux,” and is usually one of a Distros DE’s that is fully “Supported” by their Core Team of Developers. Community Editions (supported by just the community) seem to be becoming more problematic, IMHO.

Will add this post to the KDE Plasma – ‘Newb TidBits page.
