*WOW*!!! For me, Garuda Linux is offering what Arch & Arch-based OSes have all been missing, and I have just started testing this version of Garuda – this morning…Ditto on ‘Dat *WOW*!!! This review is going to require at least one more Part before I can finish it, and before I decide which Tier to put it in on the Karmi’s Top 10 5 2 3 Linux Distros page. It may be the fastest OS I have ever tested, not at booting up, but the speed ‘n snappiness of the actual OS ‘n its desktop performance (aka ‘Desktop Duty‘).

This is the second Garuda review I have done, the first was Garuda Linux – ‘King of the Arch Lineage’ back on 10/11/2020. And yes, this Garuda Cinnamon version offers the option of a Fulltime Linux Root User! No Linux ‘Nanny‘ demanding ‘Pesky Passwordsand/or annoying “Authenticate” popups interrupting your workflow!

I used Ventoy to install ‘n test both the garuda-kde-barebones-linux-lts-211129.iso (@ 1.90 GB) & the garuda-cinnamon-linux-zen-211129.iso (@ 2.33 GB) versions. Installed both to a test 120 GB SSD. Easy ‘n fast installations. However, I didn’t care for the KDE Barebones version:

That KDE version apparently doesn’t offer the Fulltime Linux Root User option, and Linux OSes wid ‘Pesky Passwordsand/or annoying “Authenticate” popups are ‘a Dime a Dozen‘.

I have already moved this Garuda Cinnamon version to a permanent 128 GB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 USB…used Clonezilla to save the 120 GB test SSD’s image, and then restored that image to the mentioned 128 GB USB.

That 2.82 GiB unallocated space at the end of the GParted partition view is space left over from that smaller SSD image. Will just leave it like that for now…

Will go ahead ‘n post Part 1…still busy wid Part 2 right now, and doing many tests. Rough guess right now, but it will probably take three parts…maybe.

An amazing job by the Developers, i.e. Garuda Linux was first released on the 26 March 2020!? A few minor issues in the root section only, but nothing so far that would keep it outta a top Tier on the Karmi’s Top 10 5 2 3 Linux Distros page.

Absolutely one of the best put together & most beautiful OSes I have evah seen:

LINUX IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES – you never know what you’re gonna get!
