Loving a Linux Distro too quickly can also be problematic for a blogger, especially if their first post raves too positively about it, and then the second post starts slamming it. That’s happened a couple of times to me on this blog. Distros can also start out strong ‘n then quickly fade away or just stop after a long time.
There is no perfect Linux Desktop Operating System…it’s like 2000++ fragments of an Operating System, if you count the Distro versions ‘n their DE’s, Flavors, Spins, etc. Linus Torvalds says – ‘Fragmentation is Why Linux Hasn’t Succeeded on Desktop’. It’s actually waaaaaaaaaaaayyy over 2000++ if you start adding in Distros like the Ubuntu Christian Edition and the Ubuntu Muslim Edition.
However, even tho Linux Developers come up with almost useless Desktop OSes, they have developed many Specialty Distros, Special-purpose Distros, Niche Distros, etc. Portability is an important specialty factor when I choose a Distro for the Karmi’s Top 10 Linux Distros page, e.g. FossaPup64 9.5 (AKA Puppy Linux 9.5) is my #1 ranked Distro because of its Portability and Rescue abilities. Kodachi Linux has been in the Top 10 since that page started with specialties like Portability and Privacy.
Kali Linux is another infamous Specialty Distro, and as I am discovering today, it is much much much more! For a brief moment today, I was prepared to “*HAMMER* it if it doesn’t work out,” as noted in the 2/25/2021 log entry on *Karmi’s Daily Blog Log* page. Didn’t really know where to start, especially after my research was revealing information after information ‘n testing was producing positive result after positive result!?!
Kali Linux was going to be a long post…probably needed to be written in parts, and was definitely going to need its own WP Blog Page. This post is going to be the ‘Foundation Post’ for the newly created – Kali Linux page. Back on May 9, 2019, about four months after starting this blog, I posted on Kali Linux – Kali Linux (*Updated*). It was literally thrashing humble Linux Newbie me, but left at least a couple of notable memories.
😉 Linux Developers can sometimes be great comedians!
LINUX IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES – you never know what you’re gonna get!
