“Microsoft is releasing its own Linux kernel”
Those 600+- deadweight & toy Linux Distros best move over (maybe pack their bags and move out might be more appropriate) – i.e. Microsoft is coming to ‘Linux Kernel’ town!
I told you Microsoft might be building its own Linux distro. They’re not there yet but this new Microsoft Linux kernel for Windows Subsystem for Linux is a big step in that direction.
snip … This fully open-source Linux “will initially be based on version 4.19, the latest long-term stable release of Linux. The kernel will be rebased at the designation of new long-term stable releases to ensure that the WSL kernel always has the latest Linux goodness.”
Good news, IMHO!
